Academic Misconduct Appeals

Full information can be found in the Academic Misconduct Appeals Policy. Where you will find appeals can only be based on the following 2 grounds;

i.             that there was a procedural irregularity in the conduct of the Academic Misconduct Panel which has prejudiced the student’s case.

ii.            additional relevant evidence has come to light since the Academic Misconduct Panel which could not have been made available earlier.

You would need to identify a ground and then explain why your case meets that ground(s); this will need to be emailed to studentappealsandcomplaints@northumbria.ac.uk

You are unable to submit an appeal until you get the decision in writing from the university. Once you do have this decision, you have 10 working days to submit your appeal.

Outcomes are normally returned within 15 working days. The Student Appeals and Complaints Team would either rejected the appeal if they feel the grounds have not been met, or if they feel the grounds have been met, another Stage 2 panel will be convened.

The Advice Team are here to help you with your case. For personalised advice or to ask further questions please email su.advice@northumbria.ac.uk
